- The gigs at Bimbo's have been so much fun, and now they're having a festival over the Easter weekend, and we're part of it!
The beer is cold, the cocktails are kooky (my favorite is a lychee vodka thingy), and the pizzas are excellent.
Bimbo’s have just started having live music on at their venue- which used to be the madly famous hotbed of musical creativity, the legendary ’Punters Club.’ So now we all get to groove out on the rooftop like we’re in that Beatles film clip!

The rooftop beer-garden at Bimbo Deluxe is the best place to be on a Summery Fitzroy afternoon. I love the Moroccan lamps that hang everywhere. Even better:
They have the best lychee infused vodka: try with a dash of lime and some lemonade for sweetness.
I'll make sure to play a couple of sets before the vodka and pizza....

- It's on again. The fun that is the rooftop of Bimbo Deluxe.
Last time the audience sang backing (very well) on my version of 'Hit Me Baby One More Time- (I think it was Alon)
The time before that, we had a very special guest Euphonium player, Brendan Moore, who raised the funkiness level of the whole instrument.
This time there will be Zerafina, Steve Rando, a special guest artist on the egg, and maybe tambourine...and other special guest artists (who will be bribed to play with pizza and beer.)
Be there to watch everyone play Zerafina's originals, and some covers like you've never heard them. If you ask nicely, we might even buy you a drink.

- Melbourne Library Service has been running the Acoustica series since late 2005, inviting local (and some not so local) musicians into the library to make some noise in a quiet place and reach a slightly different audience.
The musicians featured on the 2009 Acoustica: music in a quiet place CD, have all played at one of the Acoustica gigs during 2009 and cover a diverse range of musical styles.
You’re invited to help us celebrate the CD launch of 'Music in a Quiet Place', a selection of Melbourne Library Service’s Acoustica performers for 2009, featuring live performances by Adi Sappir, Resident Strings, The Taylor Project and Zerafina Zara.
The 2009 CD will be on sale for $15 at all three Melbourne Library Service branches, and the proceeds will go straight back into supporting the Acoustica program, and its musicians, in the coming years.
